Field notes
The park most people
never reach.
Kidepo Valley sits in the far northeast, closer to South Sudan than to Kampala. Getting there takes a flight or a long, deliberate drive — which is exactly why the plains stay empty and the silence at night is total.
Buffalo move in the hundreds across the Narus Valley. The Morungole mountains hold the horizon. There are a handful of places to stay, and that is the point.

Why Pearl Trails
Fewer listings. Better ones.
Uganda, not everywhere
We only list stays in Uganda. That narrowness is the product — we know the roads, the seasons and which lodge is worth the extra two hours.
Places we have stood in
Every property is chosen for where it sits and how it treats the land and the people around it. Nothing is listed because it paid to be.
Prices in shillings
Rates are shown in UGX, the currency the lodge actually charges in. No conversion surprises at the end of the booking.
One trip, arranged
Stays and experiences sit in the same place, so a gorilla permit and the bed you sleep in afterwards are not two separate problems.
Start somewhere
Your Uganda trip
starts here.
Pick a destination, find the stay, add the experiences that make it worth the flight.
